Memorial Day might be the traditional kickoff for summer outdoor activities for most people, but this past Saturday May 16th the patrons of Sky Tobacco in Jersey City, NJ decided to start a couple weeks early.
The pre-summer festivities were made possible by the Miami Cigar Co., who provided a vast selection of Nester Miranda Special Selection and La Aurora cigars, and Presidente Beer who made sure there were enough cold ones on hand.
Saturday was a gorgeous afternoon, one made all the more precious by the ominous forecast (rain) and the cloudy, drizzly sky we all woke to. But by the 3 pm party start time, the sun had broken through the sky, and the 80 degree weather had everyone break out the sandals and linen shorts.
Web Grebel was present with the BigMix Events party truck where a few patrons, including Jonn Nubian and Eric Anthony decided take to the roof area for some relaxation.
Most of the patrons decided to stay outside to enjoy the weather, only walking into Sky to buy more smokes or to grab another Presidente from the lovely Andi who was keeping them on ice.
The party went well into the night before we were revisited by the rain again. I had a few sips of a Presidente, and my fair share of cigars. Not a bad way to start the season.
